On Wednesday, I had to work in the morning and then Chris stayed home with Cam. After I arrived home, Chris went to work and I then went for a walk with Mardi and Cam. To be safe, we always bring snacks to help a cranky toddler. Today was pretzels and I forgot them in the stroller, but no worries, Cam didn't and he made it into the house with an empty bag.. Whoops. Pretzels EVERYWHERE (at least it was in the garage). Life with a toddler, fun. The two of them either waiting for me to get home or looking at a rabbit. Last year for Thanksgiving, I did the Turkey Trott in 40 degree weather with my 6 month old baby. So hopefully it can become a family tradition. This year we all had matching shirts and some decorations. It was amazing how many people were getting their picture with us or taking pictures of Mardi. I didn't expect this to draw so much attention. it was fun :) Mardi, LOOK at me! And of course Cam would be looking at the Camera when no one else was. Look at the Stud on the left stretching before his Fun Run/Walk with 18,000 others! Whoo Hoo, we made it! Barely, after a diaper check x 2, snack refills, and then letting the 1.5year old child walk some of it himself, we did make it! Just slow. Big Chief! Mrs. Irma watches Cam while we work and she lives right by the starting line for the Turkey Trott in Clearwater, so she kindly let us park at her house. Afterwards we were able to visit for a few minutes. One of the benefits of Florida is you can have thanksgiving feast outside! And Pool Side!
It was below 60 degrees, which mean it was time for a fire. Mardi wasn't too sure about the noises the fire was making.
On our way to cold Ohio. This was so cool because Cam loves airplanes and we loaded the aircraft from the tarmac. I'm not sure he connected the dots, but it was neat. Curious boy looking around. Chris took this picture and I'm not sure if the Giant was intentional or not! Curious little boy. Mandatory picture of clouds while up in the sky. Burrrr It's cold in Ohio! Lets get in the Hot Tub. Look my ball was on top of the hot tub. If you take one more picture, I will throw this at you. Pants, Coat and Hat, what is going on? Grandma, Let me show you. Gentle Giant Herbie Mom, it's cold on this beach. Aunt Kim, Please wake up. NOW! "Dear Everyone, Cameron & I went chick picking. We may return. We took 1 ball." I wake up from a nap with this note that Grandpa Left. They left and he remembered to take a Ball, but not snacks or a diaper. I think Kim and Mike should consider having one of their own! Happy 30th Birthday Karen! My Mom insisted we get a picture of the cake. It was pretty. Trying to teach Cam how to blow out the candles. Kim and Mike with Grapes above their heads. I'm all about Legos, but not all hours of the night. My Brother LOVED legos and this was something he had and loved as a kid, but unfortunately it was in pieces in a bin with a million other lego pieces. Chris, My Mom, Mike, Cody, and Kim all played a roll in assembling this once again for his display case. Karen may have participated slightly and I just complained about the noise they were making after 11pm. Chris and Mike got some one the job training on pulling out a boat, winterizing and storing it for the winter. Miss B. Haven being tucked away for the winter. See you soon sweetie! The whole point of us going up to Ohio was to have Thanksgiving with my Dad's side of the family. Every year they put on a big feast and everyone gets together. it's been 4 years since I was able to attend and what a perfect time now that Cam was running around. We were so busy socializing, that we really did not get any pictures. Here is my Grandmothers Brother, Dick. Him and Chris became buddies and were out looking at his old trucks. I believe this would be my second (maybe 3rd) Cousin, Cory, one of his Cows. Time to LEAVE. I've had enough snow in my lifetime. Cameron went and touched the snow and started crying because his hands were cold. Even in Airports he falls. Big boy sitting in a seat on the airplane. Of course this did not last long, but was worth the effort.
The lesson I learned today is that a 1.5 year old loves to help pot plants, but will make a HUGE mess. He didn't destroy Great Grandma Deerhakes tomato plants, so I guess it's a win for the day.
This weekend was a big weekend for us in our household. Cameron had his first overnight away from home. Mrs. Irma kindly kept Cameron all day on Saturday until Sunday morning. We still fit in a haircut and some fun time with Ainsley.
We knew this would happen someday, but not today. First trip to a walk in clinic was due to injury, and may not be the last. Cameron fell and bumped his head at the playground. His main concern was why we were leaving the playground after only being there for 5 minutes.
Sometimes you get lucky and this is what happened today. I randomly took a different route to work and passed a house that had left out in the trash a kids playhouse. I stop and it is in decent condition, I call Chris and get him to go pick it up. Sure enough an hour later, he sends me a picture of it assembled in our back yard. I was able to call the manufacture and purchase a few replacement parts for under $20. Cam loves his little house and thinks eating dinner in it is super cool.
