A day or two after the tornado came through we were out back in our play field inspecting the damage.  Cameron thought all of the cut up trees was his new personal playground.

After the fireworks it was a lovely night so we ran down to the safety harbor pier to see what we could get.  We were about an hour too late to see the moon rise.

Ohio for Mom's Birthday!

About a week ago, I didn't know what to get my mom for her birthday.  So what could top having her Grandson visit?   Cam and I flew up to Ohio a day after her birthday and spent the weekend with her.   Below we were in the airport and he was happy that I let him pick out a snack (unsalted cashews) and actually was having a grand time eating his snack and going chair to chair.

This here is the old Kelley's island ferry dock that has not been in use for many years.    The color of the water is completely strange.  I've never seen it so blue and vibrant.  Stunning for this area.

Tornado

On April 7th a waterspout came ashore and was considered a tornado in our neighborhood.  Thankfully no serious damage was done and it only seemed to tear up yards.  Still added more to the chore list.

By 10:30am Chris Texted me this picture.  He and the neighbors found all of our fence pieces and it snapped all back together.   Same day the awesome pool fence company fixed the bars on the pool security fence too.   Wonderful service.

Busy Busy, Lately

Day by day the time goes by and we try to have as much fun as possible, but we are always running around.   Husband working late often, cleaning up messes every day, dog classes, swim lessons, and then stressful work too.   Sigh, where is there relief?   I've taken much joy in doing some classes with my dog and it started with obedience and has landed us onto a hunting test.   Obedience is lots of work, hunting at the beginning level is simple, it's all natural instinct.  This past weekend we just qualified for our 4th leg giving our dog a title in Junior Hunting with the AKC.   The pictures below is from the previous week, leg 3.
Picture
Most of the Hunt Test we have been attending are out in Lake Wales Florida and they are large fields that are used for training and testing dogs.   The will fill the fields with quail and I was out shooting pictures when a Bald Eagle saw easy lunch written all over the field.   He was up circling over the field and dove down, to which I'm sure was to pick up a quail intended for a dog.   I only captured a picture of the eagle in the sky and wasn't able to see it hit the ground.  Neat sight!

Here you find 3 beyond happy dogs to be out exploring.

Trees planted in rows as a restoration project.   From what I've researched Triple Creek was an old cattle dairy farm and did a restoration project on parts of it.

Here I am with the Dog a few miles in.  Just a beautiful park.

We ran across this cool guy.    I had never seen one in our area and looked it up.

From Wikipedia:
The eastern fence lizard (Sceloporus undulatus) is a medium-sizedspecies of lizard found along forest edges, rock piles, and rotting logs or stumps in the eastern United States. It is sometimes referred to as the prairie lizard, fence swift, gray lizard, northern fence lizard or pine lizard.[3] It is also referred to colloquially as the horn-billed lizard.

Here we all are tired at about the 10 mile point and stopped for a break.

The red lines are were we actually went.  The yellow lines are what is published as the trails in Triple Creek Preserve and Balm Boyette.  We went just a little off course!
